Dr. Dre not happy about leaked track

Posted by admin | Detox | Thursday 19 February 2009 6:50 pm

Internet reports suggest that Dr. Dre is not pleased that the track “Could Have Been You” leaked earlier this week.

The song was recorded during a session for Dr. Dre’s upcoming ‘Detox’ album, chances are that the track was meant for the album, even though Dr. Dre did not have a verse on the leaked version. Aftermath did not comment on the leak, but sources say Dr. Dre was not happy with having the unfinished version (un-mixed and un-mastered) hit the internet early.

“Could Have Been You’ features R. Kelly, 50 Cent and Bishop Lamont with 50 Cent chanting “It’s the D.R.E.” at the very beginning of the track.

Many websites pulled the news-article from their website out of respect for Dr. Dre and Aftermath Entertainment. Earlier this week “Crack A Bottle” was leaked on purpose. The track includes Eminem, 50 Cent and Dr. Dre and was reported as a ‘release’ after the track leaked earlier in unfinished form.

Kardinal Offishall Feat. Dr. Dre

Kardinal Offishall featuring The Clipse “Set it Off” is the original. The track is produced by Boi-1da and taken from Kardinal’s album “Not 4 Sale”. Dr. Dre recorded an exclusive remix for this track. DJ Skee about the remix:

“Yes this is official! – A real new Dre verse. Heres the story: Skee.TV shot the “Set It Off” video for Kardinal ft. The Clipse and Jimmy Iovine loved it and sent it to Dre direct (since we had the Beats By Dre headphones in it). Then, Dre loved the song & video so much he was inspired to do a verse on it that night (I got called by the label the next day saying Dre rapped on it after being inspired by our video- a pretty good feeling). This was when he was still trying to come out with Detox this year and he wanted to start hopping on records… needless to say, those plans later changed, and thus the remix never came out (it just leaked somehow today, but was done months ago), but it is 100% real and official… and hopefully it helps Kardi! Figured I’d let the world know the real story before assumptions came out…”

Make sure to order Kardinal Offishall’s album “Not 4 Sale” and listen to the remix below:

Dr. Dre in-ear headphones

Posted by admin | Entrepreneur | Thursday 19 February 2009 6:46 pm

While Monster Cable hasn’t yet officially announced the in-ear version of its Beats by Dr. Dre, the rapper-influenced headphones have appeared at the Apple Store. The design makes use of a unique, nearly 4-foot long flat cable that features a Duraflex jacket claimed to be tangle- and knot-free. The headphones deliver sound with a low-mass, wide bandwidth driver and also include three pairs of eartips as well as two pairs of triple-layer flanged tips, dubbed Airlocks, for more customizable sound insulation.

Monster Cable also touts its usual attempts to improve sound reproduction and believes its magnetic FluxTube design, MicroStrand conductors and 24K gold contacts in the new Beats help improve their sound. The headphones are also designed with Apple’s Sound Check auto-balancing volume feature in mind to produce an appropriate sound range for tracks operating outside of their normal volume levels.

The Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Tour headphones are now available via Amazon. Click on the pictures below to order your new headphones!
