Crooked I On Dr. Dre’s “Detox” Beats

Posted by admin | Detox | Wednesday 25 November 2009 9:17 am

Slaughterhouse’s Crooked I has hyped the anticipation for Dr. Dre’s forthcoming Detox album by calling the beats instant platinum hits. The former Death Row Records artist shed light on the Doc’s unreleased beats.

“What Dr. Dre needs to know is, people, even the ones that you think are the least likely to be waiting on Detox, are waiting on Detox,” he explained in an interview. “That album is like a myth but I’ve been inside the studio and I’ve heard some of the bangers. Right now, he could drop 10 Detox’s. [laughs] You know what’s so interesting to me? Dre’s a perfectionist and I don’t know if he’s not comfortable with all of the heat that he has but the work is there. The stuff I heard is bangin’. If he didn’t want to use it, he could give it to me and I’ll go 20x platinum with it. [laughs]“ (XXL Mag)

Game and 50 Cent on Detox

Posted by admin | Detox, Interviews, Video | Monday 23 November 2009 9:19 pm

Game and 50 Cent will appear on Dr. Dre’s highly anticipated Detox release “Everything is good. Both guys are gonna be on my record,” Dr. Dre said. “And you know, I’m just trying to put it back where it’s supposed to be, all love.” Dr. Dre made the statement during a press conference at Best Buy Union Square Location (for his Beats by Dre headphone line).

Game and 50 Cent both discussed their tense relationship. Talking about working together, 50 Cent said “I wouldn’t do it, I’d be on a record, a song, on the album, but not on that record with Game.” Game however stated he doesn’t mind working together. “I mean, I don’t know what 50’s problem is, but I’m here.”

Dr. Dre did not mention a specific release date for the Detox album. “The minute it’s done and it feels right to me, that’s when it’ll come our. Hopefully in the beginning of the year.” the Aftermath CEO said.

Eminem

Eminem has announced that he’ll release Relapse Refill next month. He had planned to release Relapse 2 this year but it now seems that he will simply re-release his most recent album in deluxe format with an extra disc. The album will feature seven new songs with production coming from Just Blaze and Mr Porter.

Titled Relapse: Refill, the disc will feature seven new tracks including “Forever” featuring Drake, Kanye West and Lil Wayne, the DJ Hero bonus cut “Take My Ball” and five never-released songs.

“I want to deliver more material for the fans this year like I originally planned,” Em said in a press release. “Hopefully these tracks on the Refill will tide the fans over until we put out Relapse 2 next year.”

Eminem explained that he needed more time to finish the sequel disc. “I got back in with Dre and then a few more producers, including Just Blaze, and went in a completely different direction which made me start from scratch,” Shady said. “The new tracks started to sound very different than the tracks I originally intended to be on Relapse 2, but I still want the other stuff to be heard.”

Relapse: Refill will hit stores on December 21. Pre-order the album @ Amazon.com or CDUniverse.com.

The holiday season has arrived and Eminem is in a giving mood! This Thanksgiving Weekend Shade 45 will broadcast Eminem’s only concert for the public this year from the recent Voodoo Experience Music Festival in New Orleans. It’s Eminem as you’ve never heard him before performing his hits accompanied by a live band and the results are legendary!!! Most importantly, you can hear the concert all weekend long! The holiday season begins with Eminem recorded live in New Orleans exclusively on Shade 45! (2 hrs)

Game Speaks Dr. Dre, Detox & R.E.D.

Posted by admin | Detox, Other News | Tuesday 17 November 2009 1:20 pm

A glimmer of hope is on the horizon for fans still waiting for Dr. Dre’s mythical Detox album to drop. Game recently told XXLMag.com that he and Dre are hard at work on both Detox and his own album, The R.E.D. Giving insight into the production legend’s work ethic, Chuck Taylor said composing with Dre is a slow process.

“If you get in the studio with Dre you best be prepared to be there for a long time ’cause he gonna coach you word for word until he gets you to 100 percent where he wants it to be,” he said. “You gonna be in there all night working on one verse. “

“We recording every single day working on Detox and working on The R.E.D. album,” he revealed. “It just feels good for me to be back in the studio with the big homie and working on my project.”

Game also shared that Dre will make the ultimate decision on which songs that come out of the simultaneous Detox/R.E.D. recording sessions will go on which project. According to Game, Doc’s track record speaks for itself like his previous releases, The Chronic and The Chronic 2001.

“Man, I can’t even describe [2001]… I would just say it’s a classic West Coast album but it was world-renowned and it had an international appeal, like who from where didn’t f*ck with that album?,” Game asked in an interview. “With 2001 he just went back to do what he do best man and that’s just trying to create the sun, moon, stars and Earth in seven days, man. The thing that stands out to me about 2001 is the same thing that stood out to me about Chronic — Dre is a perfectionist and no matter when he coughs up an album, B, they be exactly what you need. I know it seem like he be taking forever with these albums but if you think about the time that passed between the Chronic and 2001, I think Detox is just about due. So it’s not about him just making us wait, it’s his format.” (XXL Mag)

50 Cent speaks on Dre & Game

Posted by admin | Detox, Video | Monday 16 November 2009 2:06 pm

50 Cent and Dr. Dre helped Game concoct a classic album on The Documentary. And although things between Fif and Game went sour, the G-Unit General said he’s open to working with Dre again to break another MC.

“We were actually talking about a new artist, working together on a new project,” 50 Cent told MTV News. “I said, ‘Just because we had a car accident, that doesn’t mean we’re not going to drive again — it just means we had an accident with that one.’ He laughed at me. He said, ‘All right. I’ll give it a try,’ because he was unsure about how I would feel about helping with [another new artist],” he continued. “Obviously Dre can create the best possible production for the artist and groom him to the right space. But going to introduce him to the general public would be something you want 50 to go do.”

Since their falling out post-Documentary, 50 has vowed never to work with Game again. And even though Game has reunited with Dre for the Detox LP as well as his own R.E.D. Album, 50 says he wouldn’t consider jumping on a record featuring Game.

“No,” Fif said flatly when asked what his response would be to Dre’s request for a reunion collaboration. “No, I wouldn’t do it. I’d be on a record, on a song, on the [Detox] album, but not on that record [with Game]. That’s not making a song, that’s making an event — things for people to talk about. … So there’s a verse there that you think would be great for both of us, I just say, ‘Erase his verse and put something in better than that.’ “

50 briefly addressed the role Dr. Dre played in his and Game’s feud on Before I Self Destruct’s “So Disrespectful.”

“I said, ‘I gave Game hits, he told me to suck di–/ Start screamin’ Westside and Dre ain’t say sh–!’ “ 50 recited.

“It was an absolute true statement and Dre approved because it was true,” 50 continued. “He heard the record and was like, ‘Whoa! Out the park with that.’ He likes it, he doesn’t care. Creatively, you’re right, ’cause he didn’t say anything when that took place — or not anything that the public heard.”(MTV)
